About this Site

I started this website because of my fascination with the Great Northern Railway. Some of my earliest memories as a child are of "Rocky" on the side of a Great Northern boxcar. Unfortunately the "Big Merger" creating the Burlington Northern occurred when I was about 8 years old and the GN was no more.

Since moving to the Wenatchee, Washington area in 2000 (the heart of GN Country) my interest in the Great Northern and other railroads has really been revived. This interest has further been stimulated by two trips on Amtrak's Empire Builder to Wisconsin. Many vestiges of the Great Northern can be seen through the upper mid west (Montana-North & South Dakota-Minnesota-Wisconsin).

My intention now for this site is to not only inform and amuse those who are interested in railroads but also to allow me to show off my own personal and some contributed Railroad related photos and railroadania.
